Sojourn, a little touch of modernity in a laid back town.
We made it across I-94. Dodging semi trucks and Illinois license plates. First destination, Sawyer, Michigan.
For the last year or so I have been following the blog and Facebook page of a little shop in called Sojourn. Okay, mostly the Facebook page, because much like my previous attempts at blogging, the Sojourn blog is a bit thin on content. But what we had learned and seen unfold looked intriguing.
Located on the Red Arrow Highway, just a short hour and a half from Chicago, but a million miles away from anything resembling rush hour, Sojourn is a more than a store — it is a rest stop.
Owner Stacia Garriott has created an inviting oasis of style and simplicity in this sleepy little town in Harbor County. A combination summer house and shop you get more of a “stopping by to say hi” feeling than a “ugh…another gift shop” feeling.
Great brands and actually useful products abound…next to the vintage that may serve a purpose, but who are we kidding, you buy them because you think they will just as fantastic in your house as they do here! Besides, who doesn’t need a glass jar of arrows.
We couldn’t stay long — but will certainly be back.
